After an eventful Christmas break, Cadence Lewis is shaken to the core.  The life she lived in New York no longer makes sense. Faced with so many questions she runs to the only person who has ever listened to her. Now she has to decide how to say goodbye to the past, discover herself, and embrace a future in a life she never wanted.  Will Cadence be able to overcome the path she’s been given or will she take the easy way out?

Mason jars, with lights inside each of them, are hung from a line between the trees. They twinkle in the night sky as the air moves them gracefully, but what I notice most is the enormous gold star hanging in the center with the word “Prom?” written on it.  When I look down there is a blanket spread out on the ground with a basket sitting next to it. When I look back up at Barrick, he’s holding a small box. He opens it and displays a gold ring with a single cut out star in the middle.

“Barrick.  It’s beautiful,” I say.

“Cadence as I look into the night sky, there’s not a star that shines as bright as you.  Can I be your date to Prom?” he questions and I suddenly realize the amazement of this moment.  A boy, who has no desire to go back to high school, is willing to go to Prom with me.

“I wouldn’t want to go with anyone else, Mr. Carpenter,” I say as he takes my hand and slides the small star ring on my right index finger.

“Cadence, each time you look at this ring, know that your wishes can come true as long as you lead the way,” he says.

“Right now, I only want to be in this moment with you,” I say as he pulls me in and our lips crash together.  I can’t get close enough to him and I can’t express my thoughts so we let our lips tell each other how we’re feeling.  Suddenly, I hear a squeal and jump away from Barrick. I turn and see Jade jumping up and down next to Aaron.

“Oh my gosh y’all, that was the sweetest moment ever!”
OMG if for some reason you didn't fall in love with Barrick in book one....you Def will with part two!! He is the absolute sweetest guy ever and he is now one of my top book boyfriends!! Cadence is definitely a lucky girl!!

When book one ends Cadence has just returned from her trip to New York. It opened her eyes to alot of things she thought she wanted and needed. Will her relationship with her dad improve at all? Will she choose to stay in Delight NC for college or will she go to Boston? Will her and Berrick continue their relationship or will they part ways? Will Cadence finally become a country girl or is she destined to be a city girl for life?

Gran is still definitely my favorite character, she is such a hoot!! My grandma was just like her!! I loved Jade and I think every one deserves a friend just like her!! I can't wait till she gets her own book. Will Aaron still be her future or is she destined to be with someone else? I was sad to see Tutus and Cowboy Boots end bc I loved everyone so hopefully with Casey's future books we will see more of all of them, especially Barrick and Cadence!!

Amazing job Casey!! You have definitely gained a new stalker.....I mean reader haha!!

Tutus & Cowboy Boots – Released Dec 29, 2015
Cadence Lewis has been dancing since she could walk. Living in New York with her parents she has the chance to go to the best dance school in the country, but when her father does the unthinkable she’s forced to leave her dreams behind and move to a small southern town with her mom. Cadence is having a hard time adjusting to her new life when she meets Jade Carpenter. Jade starts to show Cadence that small-town life isn’t so bad, but when Cadence has a chance to go back to New York she is on the next flight and will do anything to get her old life back.
I absolutely loved this book!! This is my second Casey Peeler book and I must say, I am hooked.

Cadence has the perfect life, she lives in New York with her parents and is preparing her senior dance project with the hopes of making it big one day soon.....and then she learns her parents are getting divorced and that she will be moving to Delight North Carolina with her mom. A place she has no desire to go. There will be times that her attitude will have you wanting to shake her even though you understand her frustrations but no worries on that where her gram is concerned. I loved Gram!!

Barrick is a full blown country boy. Farming is in his blood and helping Ms. Mae (Cadence's gram) on her farm is something he loves. He has nothing but respect for her elders so when he hears the way Cadence talks to her gram he is shocked! Gram puts Barrick in charge of overseeing Cadence doing chores and it quickly becomes a back and forth banter between the two. The pranks they play on each other will have you laughing and shaking your head.

As time goes on Cadence begins to see the town of Delight and some of the people in a different light. Her dad who she hasn't spoke to in months finally sends her a ticket home to visit over Christmas break.....she should be happy about that but she finds she is not as thrilled as she hoped. When she goes home will it be everything she expects? Will things with her dad inprove? Will she want to stay in New York with him and if so....where will that leave things with Barrick?

I can't wait to get my hands on book 2!! Thank goodness tomorrow is release day because I don't think I have the patience to wait very long to see how things will go. I need more Cadence and Barrick!!!! Amazing job Casey!!

Casey Peeler grew up in North Carolina and still lives there with her husband and daughter.

Growing up Casey wasn't an avid reader or writer, but after reading Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neal Hurston during her senior year of high school, and multiple Nicholas Sparks' novels, she found a hidden love and appreciation for reading.  That love ignited the passion for writing several years later, and her writing style combines real life scenarios with morals and values teenagers need in their daily lives.

When Casey isn't writing, you can find her near a body of water listening to country music with a cold beverage and a great book.
